Newly Released "Dirty Dozen"

What a coincidence! I posted last week about Pantry Essentials and my new web page What to Buy that details the foods you should organic,which includes the Dirty Dozen. The Dirty Dozen, compiled by the non-profit Environmental Working Group, is a listing of the vegetables and fruits that contain high levels of pesticide residues and therefore should be prioritized to be purchased as organic. Then today the Environmental Working Group updated their Dirty Dozen list. Clean 15 (lowest is pesticide residue)

  • Onions
  • Sweet corn (but is often genetically modified)
  • Pineapple

  • Kiwi
  • Cantaloupe, domestic
  • Sweet potatoes (but are one of the crops with the highest pesticide use per acre, making conventional farming of sweet potatoes hard on our environment and water supply)
